February 21st, 2016 (Chicago, IL and St. Louis, MO) – Road to Status, LLC today announced a partnership with the Migrant and Immigrant Community Action (MICA) Project in St. Louis.  Road to Status, LLC will provide the MICA project with its enterprise-based form preparation software that guides both immigration advocates and applicants through the complex immigration process in an easy to use, account-based system that greatly increases efficiency and reduces errors that cause delays in the application process.

The MICA Project provides immigration-related legal services to immigrants through their Client-Centered Lawyering Project. The MICA Project’s clients include people applying for permanent residence (“green cards”) or citizenship, petitioning to bring relatives to the United States, pursuing asylum or other protection from persecution or torture, and seeking to avoid removal (deportation) from the United States.

“The MICA Project strives to reach the most vulnerable and underserved communities in Missouri and Illinois.  We believe the Road to Status software will increase our ability to work with immigrant communities more efficiently.  In these challenging economic times, we look to innovations like Road to Status to increase our capacity to work with more people.”  – Katie Herbert Meyer, MICA Project Program Coordinator & Legal Advisor

“Road to Status is committed to making America’s broken immigration system more accessible, safer, and easier to navigate for all eligible applicants – regardless of their income. Road to Status is excited to partner with the MICA Project and provide them with our software and tools. By leveraging our technology, non-profits, like the MICA Project, can better assist the underserved immigrant population through more efficient use of their limited legal resources.”  – Javad Khazaeli, Road to Status, LLC Founder

About: The Migrant and Immigrant Community Association (MICA) Project
The Migrant and Immigrant Community Action (MICA) Project is a community organization committed to working with low-income immigrants to overcome barriers to justice. The MICA Project was founded in 2011 to address the surplus need for immigration legal services in the St. Louis metropolitan area.  The organization has developed its niche serving large numbers of Latino immigrants, as well as immigrants living in rural areas, who would otherwise be unable to access legal representation.  The MICA Project utilizes a combination of strategies, including legal services, organizing, advocacy, and education, to promote the voice and human dignity of immigrant communities.  The MICA Project provides legal services to immigrants and migrants in cases involving family immigration, naturalization, removal defense, and asylum and refugee issues.  In 2015, the MICA Project worked directly with 353 clients, and provided community presentations to over 700 individuals in Missouri and Illinois.  To learn more about the MICA Project visit www.mica-project.org.
